USA Nordic holds annual Virtual Nationals competition
PARK CITY, Utah — The annual Spring tradition continued this season as USA Nordic put on the Virtual Nationals, an online competition bringing together young ski jumping and nordic combined athletes from coast to coast.
Known for its relatively high production values, Virtual Nationals entertains, educates and engages the 30 sport clubs around the United States. Parents submit a 10 second video of their 8-14 year-old’s best competition jump of the prior winter season taken at any of the jump hills in the country.
The event is judged each year, after the snow has melted, by US Ski Team National Team members. This year’s judges were Ben Loomis, Annika Malacinski, Paige Jones, Andrew Urlaub, and Sam Macuga.
Two Park City Ski and Snowboard Team jumpers won their age and gender categories; Sadie McCrank and Liam Demong.
