KAMAS, Utah — Farmers market season is approaching, and a new one is emerging to add to your list. The new Kamas Valley Artisan Market will be held at Kamas City Event Center, 50 E 400 S in Kamas, on the third Saturday of every month beginning May 20.
Here’s what you can expect:
– Valley-grown meat, food, and produce
– Books and artisan-made home goods
– Art and gifts
– Baked items
Market organizer Kate Wynn said via the Arts Council Park City & Summit County, “I was part of the original Kamas Action steering committee in 2020, and a farmers market was high on the priority list from the start. But COVID put a stop to any progress.”
Since then, Wynn and other organizers have taken note of local vendors’ needs, which include opening the market to small businesses, making it year-round, and featuring live music and food trucks.
“Kamas Valley has a lot of talented entrepreneurs, but until now, there hasn’t been a regular place here to showcase their products,” says Wynn. “The best way to keep that talent here is to offer a place within the Valley to market their wares.”
A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding community events like Kamas Action’s Gateway to Summer & Fiesta Days.
