PCHS Miners girls wrestling placed 4th at State Championships
OREM, Utah — The Park City High School Miners wrestling team competed at the Utah State Championships meet at Utah Valley University on Saturday. Noa Omessi and Corinne Letchford both placed 4th in the girls’ competition in their respective weight classes. At Divisionals, Letchford, a junior, placed 3rd, and Omessi, a sophomore, placed 5th.
“This year was a rebuilding year for us. Have been really happy with the team – they way they have grown as individuals and come together as a team.” Curt Futch, head of Park City Wrestling told TownLift.
The program participation numbers are trending significantly upwards with more than 30 students trying out and 28 staying on the wrestling roster. Those numbers align with the goals of Larry Miller and James Letchford who help manage and coach the teams, and simply want students to come out and learn about the sport.
