Experience NBA All-Star Game events on a family-friendly budget

SALT LAKE CITY — Those who can’t purchase tickets to the 2023 NBA All-Star Game can still participate in the fun with budget-friendly activities later this month.

The All-Star Game will take place on February 19 at the Vivint Arena, but basketball fans who aren’t attending the game can still experience several official NBA All-Star events throughout Salt Lake City from February 16-19.

Ice Buckets at Trolley Square
Date: Ongoing
Cost: Free
The Ice Buckets challenge is a perfect way to tip off All-Star weekend, as basketball fans, sports enthusiasts, and Utah locals and visitors to the state alike are invited to shoot their shot and prove that they have “ice in their veins.” It’s a free-to-play shooting challenge on a pop-up indoor basketball court where participants can win NBA prizes, including tickets to the NBA All-Star events, merchandise, and more.

NBA Foundation Pitch Competition
Date: Thursday, February 16
Time: 5 -7 p.m.
Tickets: Free
Location: Salt Palace Convention Center
The NBA and NBA Foundation will host a live pitch competition highlighting up-and-coming and/or existing Black entrepreneurs in the Salt Lake City community and across the country. This event will provide eight pre-selected entrepreneurs with the opportunity to gain funding for their ventures and receive valuable input from influential business leaders across the NBA community. Fans can watch young business owners compete for a cash prize.

NBA Crossover
Date: Friday, Feb. 17 – Sunday, February 19
Time: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Tickets: Start at $20 for kids; $40 for adults
Location: Salt Palace Convention Center
Offering even more ways for fans to get in on the action, NBA Crossover will take place at the Salt Palace Convention Center and is a fan destination with customized experiences, retail offerings, NBA partner activations, player and talent appearances, memorabilia displays, and more.

Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
Date: Friday, February 17
Time: 5 -7 p.m.
Tickets: Start at $35
Location: Jon M. Huntsman Center
The Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game is an annual, nationally televised exhibition basketball game that features some of today’s biggest stars, including actors, musicians, former NBA players, and current WNBA players, as they test their skills for a fun and entertaining basketball game.

NBA Rising Stars
Date: Friday, February 17
Time: 7 p.m.
Tickets: Start at $40
Location: Vivint Arena
NBA Rising Stars will provide fans with an opportunity to watch the league’s top first and second-year players compete. Rising Stars will be presented in a four-team tournament-style format featuring three games played to a final target score.

NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T
Date: Saturday, February 18
Time: 11 a.m.
Tickets: Start at $50
Location: Jon M. Huntsman Center
Access to NBA All-Star Practice, presented by AT&T, will allow fans to see the 2022 NBA All-Star Game players and coaches as the teams practice for Sunday’s showcase.

NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T – Grambling State University vs. Southern University
Date: Saturday, February 18
Time: 2 p.m.
Tickets: Start at $10
Location: Jon M. Huntsman Center
The NBA and the NBPA will highlight the HBCU community with a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup between Grambling State University and Southern University men’s basketball teams. The game will be played at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Feb. 18 and broadcast live. This is a public ticketed event.

NBA G League Next Up Game
Date: Sunday, February 19
Time: 1 p.m.
Tickets: Start at $15
Location: Jon M. Huntsman Center
The NBA G League’s top young players will be on display at NBA All-Star 2022 in Salt Lake City in the NBA G League Next Up Game. The game highlights the G League’s next generation of talent.
