Snowbasin Resort to add new 6-person lift for 2023-24 ski season

UTAH — The never-ending expansion of ski resorts around the state continues with the announcement of the new DeMoisy Express lift at Snowbasin Resort. This new lift will provide more access to the DeMoisy Peak side of the resort, dropping skiers and snowboarders at a wind-protected area above Dan’s Run. The new six-person lift will start construction before its expected opening for the 2023-24 winter season.

Ranked #14 on Ski Magazine’s top resorts in the west for 2023, Snowbasin is known for its premium lifts and two large gondolas feeding into premium terrain. The new express lift adds another access point that will disperse people across the mountain, lessening any congestion that might occur for those wanting to access the Strawberry Peak area.

Not only will this lift provide our guests with more convenient access to some of their favorite areas on the mountain, but it will also increase capacity and allow us to maintain access to the Strawberry area during certain times that can challenge the ongoing operation of the Strawberry gondola. We cannot wait for our guests to experience the benefits of the new DeMoisy Express. This new lift should significantly enhance our beloved locals’ skiing and riding experience and allow new guests to experience exceptional terrain easier and faster than ever before.”

The DeMoisy Express will be the 13th lift at the resort, with the most recent addition in 2021. The resort will be working with Leitner POMA of America to manufacture and install the new lift that is expected to transport 2,400 riders every hour, with travel times from bottom to top only taking 10 minutes.

Snowbasin has long been considered a hidden gem among Utah’s ski resorts. The well-known giant luxurious bathrooms, the lack of traffic, and fewer people make the resort popular among local skiers and snowboarders. Adding a new lift to make more terrain easier to access only furthers the idea of Snowbasin being a resort worth visiting.
