Celebrate Home with Habitat for Humanity’s Holiday Tree Auction
PARK CITY, Utah — To honor the comfort, love, and safety of home, Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties (HFH) is holding a Celebrate Home Holiday Tree Auction with 14 custom-decorated trees. The auction will raise funds for HFH’s work building affordable homes for local families.
The trees can be seen at the ReStore at 6280 Silver Creek Drive, Park City, from Tuesday, November 15, through Saturday, November 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The auction closes at 8 p.m. on November 19.
The themes of the trees vary from Gnome for the Holidays to Hogwarts-themed The Magic of Home. The Giving Tree even features over 20 gifts for infants to adults.
“Our featured tree is 12 feet tall and showcases glass ornaments from Eleganté Interiors and Design, designed by professional Shelly Monk,” said Monika Guendner with HFH. “The tree features delicate bells and gold, glass, and white ornaments. One of Habitat’s regular volunteers, Margie Yapp, decorated a pet-themed tree with toys, treats, and accessories for cats and dogs. She is also a supporter of Nuzzles and Co. and hopes someone will want to bid on that tree and donate it to Nuzzles to use the ‘ornaments’ as gifts for adopters.”
HFH aims to raise $15,000 with the Holiday Tree Auction, which will go toward building the next 14 homes in Silver Creek Village.
“We are currently building a four-unit townhouse and a 10-unit townhouse,” she said. “Of the families who have already been selected for our Homeownership Program, two are teachers– one in Park City School District and one in South Summit School District. All our future homeowner families work in Summit County, have deep connections to the community, and want to stay.”
