DC Shoes and Lucasfilm collaborate on Star Wars™ Snow collection
CARLSBAD, California — DC Shoes announced a collaboration with Lucasfilm to release a Star Wars™ snowboarding collection to honor the original film trilogy. The collection will be available on DC’s website and in select stores starting October 12.
The collection includes two “capsules” with a unique matching snowboard, boots, jacket, pants, and gloves. One capsule features a camo print inspired by Boba Fett’s armor from the Disney+ television series Mandalorian™. The Boba Fett capsule’s snowboard features “vintage artwork of the notorious bounty hunter on the top sheet, a collector’s dream come true.”
The second capsule “finds inspiration from the dark side,” featuring a custom galaxy print with some of the Imperial Army’s most iconic spaceships. The jacket’s lining shows many of the most infamous (or maybe most beloved) villains of the Star Wars galaxy, including Darth Vader™ himself. The lining print is also on the topdeck of the included snowboard.
DC shoes have been a big brand in the snowboarding and skating industry since its founding in 1994. They have featured art by collaborators, including Supreme, Shephard Fairy, Buscemi, Doublet, and Carrots.
Local rally car driver Ken Block co-founded DC Shoes and sold the company to Australian-based Quicksilver in 2004. DC Shoes currently carries a Ken Block collab shoe called the Versatile.
