E-Bike thieves in Park City: One apprehended, one at large
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Information from the September 7 Summit County Sherriff shift report details an attempted e-bike theft on Crestview Dr., Summit Park. Out of the two reported suspects, one was detained and the another remains at large as of 12:30 p.m. September 8, according to Captain Andrew Wright.
Deputies responded to a complaint that reported two males had attempted to steal their e-bikes. Police were able to locate and apprehend one suspect in the local neighborhood relatively quickly, while the other suspect evaded their search. Deputies then continued to search on foot, by car, and by police drone team but did not locate the second suspect.
The victim of the attempted theft positively identified the detained suspect, a 35-year-old Salt Lake City man who was charged with theft and possession of controlled substances. Summit County Sheriff’s Department will release details about the second subject in the future, which will be listed here when available.
