Enhanced parking enforcement in Bonanza Flat to begin July 1

PARK CITY, Utah – Park City Municipal, in collaboration with Wasatch County, will begin enhanced parking enforcement in Bonanza Flat beginning July 1.

A notice from the city says that parking along either side of Pine Canyon and Guardsman Pass Road will result in vehicles getting a ticket or possibly towed.

Park City purchased the 1,534 acres of undeveloped Wasatch backcountry in 2017 due to a fear of development. It’s a popular outdoor area for bikers and hikers in the summer. Often many of the trailhead parking lots are full during busy days. Wasatch County has jurisdiction over adjoining land. Park City’s Trails and Open Space team has brought on rangers to patrol the area this summer.
