Injured climber rescued from Zion National Park cliff
ZION NATIONAL PARK — Officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) Aero Bureau were dispatched to Kolob Canyon in Zion National Park on Sunday, where a solo injured climber was in need of rescue.
DPS said the man spent the night on the cliff face, cold, injured, and unprepared.
Park rangers helped locate the individual and guide the rescue helicopter in. The man was flown safely away from the area.
“Please plan ahead before you go out,” DPS said.
Information was not released on his state of wellbeing.
