Cold front incoming along with possible snow dusting

PARK CITY, Utah — Following warmer temperatures earlier in the week, a cold front is on its way, dropping the temperature by roughly 17 degrees in Park City from Thursday to Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City.

NWS said that snow will increase in coverage over the northern Utah mountains Thursday night, with some valley rain also possible with precipitation tapering off during the day Friday.

A 20 percent chance of showers after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 21 to 24 mph.

Thursday night
A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then snow showers likely. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West southwest wind 18 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday
Snow showers likely before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. West northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Mostly clear, with a low around 28. West northwest wind 8 to 13 mph becoming east after midnight.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. East southeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
