POWDR hires D.C. lobbyist as VP of communications and gov’t affairs
PARK CITY, Utah — POWDR announced on Monday the hire of Stacey Hutchinson as Vice President of Communications & Government Affairs.
Hutchinson will move out west from Washington D.C., where she is currently a principal at Monument Advocacy, a lobbying firm that made over $10 million in 2021 thanks to big-name clients, such as PepsiCo, Microsoft, and Amazon.
Before her time at Monument Advocacy, she was the Director of Strategic Partnerships at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she developed programming based on emerging technologies.
Hutchinson served as deputy chief of staff for former Republican House Rep. Erik Paulsen of Minnesota from 2011 to 2014.
In 2010, she was Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell’s press secretary. Hutchinson held senior communications roles on successful congressional and gubernatorial campaigns and served in a similar capacity for former House Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) before her role with McDonnell.
“It’s not often you find someone with the unique background that Stacey brings to POWDR,” said POWDR CEO Justin Sibley. “Having served in many high-level communications roles, coupled with her political acumen, she has the critical expertise we need to advance our priorities in a substantial way. We are excited to welcome Stacey to our team.”
POWDR, headquartered in Park City, owns Snowbird, Woodward, Copper Mountain, Killington, and other mountains.
“I have had a life-long love affair with the mountains and skiing, so when this opportunity to work where I play came along, I couldn’t resist,” Hutchinson said in a statement. “I am eager to tell the POWDR story that is driven by strong values, a commitment to people, and the environment. It’s exciting to be part of a team that advocates for an industry focused on making people’s lives better.”
