Gold medalist Red Gerard’s park opens at Woodward
PARK CITY, Utah — This weekend will mark this season’s opening of more sections of outdoor activities at Woodward. Red’s Backyard opens on Friday and the Peace Park on Saturday, adding to the already-open indoor, skiing, snowboarding, snow biking, and tubing options.
Matt Peterson, Woodward Mountain Center Marketing & Brand Director said, “Red Gerard is the reigning slopestyle Olympic gold medalist. Building Red’s BKYD in Park City inspires the next generation of action sports.”
Applicable for beginners, intermediates and experts alike, the features are inspired by Red’s actual backyard in Summit County, Colorado. There Red and his four brothers and two sisters used to play before that play evolved into official training and before that official training evolved into winning a gold medal in Snowboarding Slopestyle at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics.
Red’s Backyard and the Peace Park are, like in season’s past, both included in the purchase of a lift-access ticket.
