Fraternal Order of Police and AirMed bring deputy Young home

PARK CITY, Utah. — The Utah State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced that Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Young returned home to his loved ones in Utah.

Deputy Young was seriously injured in a vehicle accident while on vacation in Colorado.

Ian Adams, Executive Director of the Utah FOP, said the insurance company refused a request to fly Young back to Utah to recover alongside his family. The $25,000-$70,000 transportation cost would be put entirely on the family.

Fortunately, the University of Utah AirMed heard about Deputy Young’s situation. They flew on Wednesday to Colorado to pick him up and return him to Utah.

The Utah FOP began to organize and raise money from the community. They have collected roughly $11,000 in donations so far. The FOP asks you to consider donating if you are able: click here. The press release says that every dollar will go directly to the Young family.

Executive Director Adams writes, “Utah truly has the most caring community, and as the voice of Utah law enforcement, we extend their thanks as well.”
