HOLLYWOOD, California. — In last night’s genre challenge on American Idol, Parkite Wyatt Pike performed an eclectic rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay” that impressed judges and guaranteed his fans will get another fix tonight.
Pike’s performance last night showcased his abilities in the category of Indie Folk, which blends the acoustic guitar melodies of traditional folk music with contemporary instrumentation.
“Man, that voice is so smooth,” Idol judge Luke Bryan said about Pike’s performance.
Pike now advances to the show’s duet competition, which will air tonight at 8 p.m./7 p.m. central time on ABC.
