SUMMARY:Thriving Land Thursdays: Willow Planting on the 910 Ranch
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a volunteer restoration project on the 910 Ranch! We will be planting willow stakes along a tributary of East Canyon Creek. \n\n\n\n\nWillow Planting on the 910 Ranch: Join Summit County’s Lands & Natural Resources Department and our partners from Trout Unlimited at the 910 Ranch for a hands-on day of stewardship and community connection! We will be planting willow stakes on a tributary of East Canyon Creek. This restoration project will help improve wildlife habitat and prevent erosion along the stream. \nWhat to Bring & Wear: We recommended wearing long pants\, long sleeves\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes or muck boots. You may want to bring sun protection (hat\, sunglasses\, sunscreen)\, water and snacks\, and layers in case of changing weather. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves\, but some will be available to borrow. Please leave dogs at home. \nWhat to Expect: We will provide all tools and instruction. The project involves walking up to 2 miles over uneven\, often muddy terrain\, with the possibility of stream crossings. You will be working in or near water. \nLocation: You will meet L&NR staff at the 910 Ranch. Meeting location and parking details will be provided in a confirmation email upon registration. Please carpool or take alternative modes of transportation\, if possible. \nSafety Notice: By signing up and attending this activity\, you acknowledge these risks\, accept full responsibility for your participation\, and agree to the terms of the waiver. Your safety is our priority—follow staff instructions and look out for one another. \nThis is a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves\, meet like-minded people\, and directly enhance one of our community’s treasured open spaces.
