PCHS names Premier Lacrosse League veteran Kyle Hartzell as new boys Head Lacrosse Coach

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City High School announced Friday that world champion and professional lacrosse veteran Kyle Hartzell will serve as the new head coach of its boys lacrosse program.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kyle to lead our boys lacrosse program,” Athletic Director Jamie Sheetz said in a statement. “Kyle’s background speaks for itself, but it’s his passion for teaching the game, building character, and developing student-athletes off the field that truly set him apart. We are entering an exciting new era for our program.”

Hartzell brings more than a decade of playing and coaching experience to Park City. He played professionally in the Premier Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse, earning three All-Star selections and winning two MLL championships.

He also helped Team USA win a gold medal at the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship. At Salisbury University, Hartzell won an NCAA Division II national championship, earned first-team All-American honors, and was named the championship game’s most outstanding player.

Hartzell has coached at the high school, club, and collegiate levels, emphasizing player development, defensive strategy, and program building.

Known for his work ethic and aggressive defensive style, Hartzell helped pioneer the long-stick midfielder position at the professional level. He plans to bring the same intensity, discipline, and tactical approach to Park City.

Hartzell takes over a Miners program that won the Utah state championship last season.
