Construction is underway on 38 bus stops across Park City as the city enters the second phase of a multiyear effort to improve transit accessibility, with work expected to continue through the end of 2026

PARK CITY — Construction crews began work Monday on improvements to 38 bus stops across Park City, kicking off the second major phase of a multiyear effort to upgrade the city’s public transit infrastructure.

The work, which started June 8, will affect stops along Monitor Drive, Park Avenue, Prospector Avenue, Marsac Avenue, Royal Street and other corridors throughout the community. The 2026 construction phase will include shelters at 18 of the 38 stops, along with additional amenities such as bike racks, ski racks and trash cans at select locations.

Park City has secured a series of federal, state and county grants to fund the improvements. The broader project aims to enhance access to transit, ADA accessibility, and add amenities at a total of 84 stops by December 2027.

In 2024, 18 bus stops were constructed, including shelters at nine locations, along with benches and trash cans at select stops. Construction paused in 2025 while the city completed planning and design for the remaining 66 stops. A final round of 31 stops, including shelters at 10 locations, is planned for construction in 2027.

During construction, some stops will temporarily close to allow crews to work. Temporary stops will be available at several key locations to keep riders connected during the work.

Some of the shelters built during the 2024 phase include public art installations, a feature the city says will continue as new shelters are added.
