Park City High School ranks No. 5 in Utah

U.S. News & World Report places PCHS among the state’s top public high schools, with strong marks for college readiness and AP performance.

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City High School has been ranked the fifth-best high school in Utah by U.S. News & World Report, placing it among the top public high schools in the state.

The ranking also makes PCHS the second-highest-ranked traditional public high school in Utah, behind Skyline High School in Millcreek. The other schools ahead of Park City in the statewide rankings — Beehive Science & Technology Academy, Karl G. Maeser Preparatory Academy, and InTech Collegiate High School — are charter schools.

Nationally, Park City High School ranked No. 909 out of nearly 18,000 public high schools, placing it in the top 5% nationwide, according to the Park City School District.

U.S. News ranks high schools using several measures, including college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, breadth of college curriculum, and graduation rates. College readiness includes student participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams, according to RTI International, which works with U.S. News on the rankings methodology.

Park City High School received a score of 94.92, with the ranking reflecting AP participation and performance, graduation rates, and proficiency in math, reading, and science, according to reporting from the Park Record.

The recognition adds to PCHS’s recent run of high statewide rankings. A school profile lists Park City High School as ranked No. 5 in Utah in both 2024 and 2025, and No. 4 in 2023, by U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking is one measure of school performance, but for Park City families, it offers a snapshot of how the high school compares academically with public schools across Utah and the nation.
