Avalanche dogs and bluegrass take center stage at Backcountry Bow Wow

The 11th annual Park City fundraiser will support local avalanche rescue, ski patrol and mountain worker organizations.

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association is bringing back its popular Backcountry Bow Wow fundraiser for an 11th year, this time at The Marquis in Old Town on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are available through the event’s fundraising page.

The 21-and-older event benefits three local organizations: the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association, Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, and United Mountain Workers.

The evening kicks off with a meet-and-greet with certified Wasatch Backcountry Rescue avalanche dogs and a silent auction from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a live performance from Pixie and the Partygrass Boys running from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Grand prize raffles — featuring skis, outerwear, local experiences, and more — close out the night at 9:30 p.m.

The event has a $40,000 fundraising goal, with proceeds supporting avalanche rescue operations, backcountry safety, and community services.

The Marquis is located at 427 Main St. Organizers encourage guests to use public transit to reach Old Town. Drivers can find parking at the China Bridge Parking Structure at 475 Swede Alley or at nearby public lots on Park Avenue and Heber Avenue.

Local businesses or individuals interested in donating items for the silent auction or raffle can contact the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association directly.
