Deer Valley president & COO departs

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort President and Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Levitt is leaving the Alterra Mountain Company this week.

In his short tenure, which began October of 2020, Levitt guided the resort through a pandemic winter and increased the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

“We thank Jeremy for his dedication and commitment to Alterra Mountain Company over the years and wish him the best,” Deer Valley Resort said in a statement.

No reason was given for the departure. Deer Valley’s opening day is Saturday, December 4. The resort is also currently in talks with the Park City Planning Commission over the development of Snow Park.

“Alterra Mountain Company will announce new leadership for Deer Valley Resort in the near future. In the meantime, Mark Brownlie, COO of Alterra Mountain Company, will oversee the operations of the resort. Mark brings a wealth of experience with 35 years in the ski industry, including four years as President & COO of Mammoth Mountain.”

Before his role at Deer Valley, Levitt was the president of CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures in Canada.
