New Transit to Trails in Town shuttle service

PARK CITY, Utah — Following the success of the Transit to Trails pilot program, the Summit Land Conservancy, Park Municipal, and Utah Mountain Shuttle are continuing to collaborate with a new shuttle service called Transit to Trails in Town.

The new routes will offer a free shuttle service from 1376 Munchkin Road to the Armstrong Trailhead, McPolin Farm, and the Cove Trailhead on weekends.

The project’s objective is “to enrich the public’s lives, preserve our landscapes and reduce congestion on roads and trail-heads.”

The first day of the new service is on Saturday, September 11. It is set to run until Halloween.

Coming into the fall, the Summit Land Conservancy wanted to provide more offerings for hikers and bikers around town.

Executive Director of the Summit Land Conservancy, Cheryl Fox, said they specifically wanted to alleviate parking problems at trailheads where there is not a lot of capacity. She said that not having to deal with congestion adds to the “overall experience.”

She added that Armstrong Trailhead is also especially beautiful in the fall, as the aspen trees transition.

Below are the instructions for reserving a ride. Fox said to make sure you get on the right shuttle. There won’t be full signage up this weekend because of the quick rollout of the program.
